Here's a place that's not very haunted, I don't think. Interesting rumor history to it and all though...
Anyway, this small cemetery (not even 20 people were buried there ever) is in the west area of Houston, Texas, in Bear Creek Park. The area has never ever had proper draining facilities, hence why they relocated its church and graves elsewhere, as Houston floods a lot (well, when we actually GET rain! blasted drought...).
First is it's nickname of Blue Light Cemetery, due to how headstones used to use a mineral back then that would glow blue at night. There have been rumors of people practicing Satanism out there. At one point when I checked out the area it looked like indeed there was some kind of homemade altar at the site, as someone used a fallen tree to climb through it's meek wire fence. Supposedly a murder happened out there once. I had a friend of a friend (yeah, one of those deals) had a friend where he and someone else went out there at one point, they got jumped by people, one got away and the other's head was later found with his eyes, tongue, and nose cut out. Don't know if that's one and the same or if it really happened, but yeah. (Note: no, the area's not dangerous, as I've never seen anyone there before...during the day. This was supposedly at night. In the state of Texas, you're not supposed to be in graveyards after sunset.)
A local unit of the Army Core of Engineers keeps the place up here and there. New fences keep on getting installed over the years. Dummies keep on using wire cutters to get through them. It's really stupid. There's barely any markers left.
Also not far from the site are two bridges. I caught an evp from one of them one day, although it was the OTHER one where things are supposed to happen (yeah, figures!). A story says you can park your car (on the right one) at night and you could hear tapping all over your car. You are NOT supposed to open any windows or get out. Supposedly these are civil war soldiers. This is also bunk, since the closest civil war personnel ever got to Houston was in Galveston, which is like an hour and a half away...nowadays. Back then on horses, much longer (half a day?). So who knows who these people are.
Anyway, I went out there and only caught a growl of an evp. No way that was an animal, I would have seen the thing, as it was very close. The clearing is very large with excellent visibility (after all, a church used to be there). There was also some *thing* in the woods but I'll post about it later, since this is getting a bit long. Paranormal people have been in the bridge area and caught some evidence before. I'll have to go back out there at some point at night and record to see what's up. It's supposed to be a fairly haunted area, but not the old cemetery area; hardly anyone seems to be there. At the bridge though, oh yeah.
